Improved thermal insulation, security and fabrication for increased performance in the core market segment for Schüco

Schüco AWS 75.SI+ is a highly thermally-insulated aluminium window system with a comprehensive range of solutions. It is a component of the Schüco AWS modular system for the basic depth of 75 mm, and features impressive characteristics in terms of function, energy efficiency and design.

The standard version of the Schüco AWS 75.SI+ window system, featuring outer and vent frames with a combined face width of 117 mm, achieves a Uf value of 1.2W/(m²K). In the optimised variant, the high insulation properties of the tried-and-tested system mean the Uf value can be further reduced to 1.1 W/(m²K) by using a special insulating material. Different insulation standards can therefore be achieved with this series depending on requirements. Increased scaling options for thermal insulation are possible, for example, by means of the glazing rebate insulation or through the different materials used for polythermide (PT) or polyamide (PA) foam-filled insulating bars.

The Schüco AWS 75.SI+ window system forms the basis for a wide range of applications in building envelopes. Depending on the architectural requirement, the window system can be used as a punched opening, ribbon window, façade insert unit or in combination with Schüco door systems. Furthermore, a wide variety of different opening types can be designed with this system, such as tilt/slide vent, bottom-hung toplight or horizontal and vertical pivot vents. Within the system platform, Schüco AWS 75.SI+ offers a wide range of profiles, such as corner mullions, structural mullions, symmetrical and asymmetrical mullions, as well as numerous design variations and additional combination possibilities with products from the Schüco product range, such as Schüco sun shading or Schüco ventilation systems. As a result, the Schüco AWS 75.SI+ window system sets new standards for planning flexibility and offers impressive versatility.




Bottom hung

With face widths of just 34 mm and 44 mm, the system also impresses visually with narrow mullion and frame profiles. Depending on the design, large window units with vent heights of up to 2500 mm can also be constructed. Based on the choice of profiles for the standard series, Schüco AWS 75.SI+ offers a comprehensive range of solutions for special design requirements using modern system technology. The Residential Line (RL) and Soft Line (SL) design series offer all the advantages of modern aluminium constructions and are fully compatible with the corresponding standard systems.

Schüco AWS 75.SI+ has also been continuously developed with future considerations in mind, and is perfect for use in sustainable building envelopes.The system is based on the “Cradle to Cradle” (C2C) principle, meaning building elements are tested for pollutants and recycling properties.This means that raw materials are turned into products which can be processed after use and once again become highly valuable raw materials with their original quality. Schüco AWS 75.SI+ was tested by EPEA Hamburg and certified with a silver label in accordance with the current C2C standard of the American Cradle to Cradle Innovation Institute.

In combination with the Schüco AvanTec SimplySmart mechanical generation of fittings, its technology and a centre gasket optimised for energy efficiency provide fabrication benefits and significant time savings during installation. When combined with the Schüco AvanTec Simply Smart fittings, it is possible to meet modern architectural requirements for large-scale opening units with fully concealed fittings technology – with opening angles of up to 180° and vent weights of up to 250 kg.
